- Sore throat, usually painful on one side.

- ear pain on the same side of the peritonsillar abscess.

How to diagnose Peritonsillar abscess
The doctor conducts initial examination of the mouth and throat. Any signs of swelling on one side of the throat and redness on the roof of the mouth will be checked if present.
