What is placenta previa?

How Is placenta previa Treated
The treatment for low-lying placenta is variable and depends on a number of factors including the following:
- The health of the mother
- The health of the child
- the baby's position
- the position of the placenta
- blood loss
- gestational age of the child
most of treatment options for placenta previa are intended to make the symptoms manageable and prolong pregnancy. These may include:
- blood transfusion (in case of loss of blood)
- careful monitoring
- Checking vital signs of the mother regularly (blood pressure, etc.)
- hospitalization
- complete bed rest
- avoiding activities that trigger uterine contractions
- avoid sexual intercourse and orgasms (6)
sometimes, steroid shots may be given to help mature the lungs of the baby, but this depends largely on gestational age. If the bleeding is not controlled, it may require a C-section immediately, regardless of the duration of the pregnancy. (7)
